Matchday Squads: How to play

The basics

What is Matchday Squads?

Matchday Squads is a web-based game that allows you to form Squads with your Matchday cards in your favourite formation to play a Friendly Match.

In future, you’ll be able to compete against other Squads in the Weekly League, or complete Daily Missions for rewards.

How do I form a Squad in Matchday Squads?

To form a Squad in Matchday Squads, you'll need to first collect some Matchday cards. Once you have at least 11 cards, go to the "Squad" tab and set your starting line-up and substitutes.

You can also set your Squad’s formation by clicking on the formation button at the top right of the screen. Don’t forget to save when you’re done!

How do I acquire new Matchday cards in Matchday Squads?

Currently, you can head to Matchday.com/collect where you can invite friends to join via your referral link. When three friends sign up, you'll receive a free pack (limited to one free pack per user).

We also run regular quizzes on Discord, as well as occasional contests on Twitter and Instagram, that allow you to win cards. Make sure you’re following us so you don’t miss out!

Individual cards are available at our Marketplace.

In future, you will be able to acquire cards by participating in the Weekly League and doing well in your League, or by completing Daily Missions.

How do I play a Friendly Match?

To play a Friendly Match, click on the Play button and we’ll match you up with another Squad!
